Recycling Centre

Recycling is higher on the Government agenda than ever before, with strict targets for local authorities to meet in order to lessen the impact our daily lives have on the environment.

Here at The New Hope Trust we really believe in Recycling. Outside our Charity Barn at Faith Acres near Peterhead we have a number of recycling bins, catering to everything from clothing and plastics to bottles and cans. Almost every item that we receive in these bins is recycled in some way. We are working hard towards our goal of absolutely nothing, not a single can or piece of clothing, not so much as a single boot lace, ending up in landfill. We’re not quite there yet, but we can confidently say that 99% of the items we get will ultimately be recycled and reused so as to cause minimal harm to the environment. As well as the obvious environmental benefits, every item placed in our recycling bins will generate badly needed funds which go directly into helping some of the poorest and most vulnerable children in Europe.

So please remember that every piece of recyclable waste you throw into your rubbish bin could instead be used to save some of the poorest children in Europe. Plastics, metals, textiles, glass bottles, cans, books, anything that can be recycled, please recycle it with us, and save lives while you save the planet.
