Oaza (which means Oasis), began as a daily feeding program for street children, but very quickly has grown and developed into something far bigger.

Even to this day, the plight of many children living in Romania is hard to believe.
Some children are born on the street, some live on the street, some are abandoned by their families, some have been abused and because of this have run away.

The Oaza project has become a lifeline and the only avenue of hope to many children.

Oaza provides:-

• A home for street children….
• Housed in their sibling groups, the children are raised in a loving, caring home environment.
• Education….
• The children are integrated into the local school system with many of them requiring extra tuition and support to help them in their educational development. Although the state provides schooling, extra tuition and learning support is not free and has to be paid by Oaza.

Health & Nutrition….
No longer living on scraps, or having to beg or steal, the children have a healthy, balanced diet. Their clothes are washed regularly, they have a change of clothes and are able to wash and keep themselves clean.

The cost of housing, feeding, clothing, educating and providing medical care presently costs £250 a month per child. In the last year the cost of utilities have risen by 30%. These costs are real challenges, but they are not impossible to overcome! With your help we can do it!

Although some people can afford to completely sponsor a child, most people can part-sponsor a child. If every person who reads this were to part-sponsor an Oaza child, the costs would be covered and more children would be taken into the Oaza homes, giving them a loving, caring environment in which to grow up. Perhaps you can only afford £10, £20 or £25 a month? Together we can all make a difference.

Expansion of Casa Bucurie (The House of Joy)
This house (see picture) is in need of repair—the roof has to be replaced—for example. Due to the lack of space (as more and more children are needing housed), we are also undertaking to expand of the building to create more space, extra and bigger rooms.

The cost of this project is £40,000. Once complete, not only will the house be like new, it will put Oaza on a better foundation for providing hope and help to children in need for many years to come.
